NEC x GYM Club Guest Lecture Session on “Organic Farming and its Impacts on Environment”

NEC x GYM Club Guest Lecture Session on “Organic Farming and its Impacts on Environment”. Mr. Nadeem Iqbal, CEO of “The Network for Consumer Protection” will be sharing his expertise and knowledge on organic farming.

The purpose of this guest lecture session is to create awareness of organic farming practices and its useful impacts on the environment and public health along with resource conservation concepts in youth at NUST.

The event plan is as follows:

NEC x GYM present Eco-Code 2.0

GYM x NEC successfully conducted the 2nd Episode of ECO code this year on 16 May . This year we had very interesting and informative lectures on different topics that includes Green Washing , SDGs and Disaster Risk Reduction and Financing.

NEC’s Eco marathon

NUST Environmental Club (NEC) in collaboration with Green Youth Movement held its Marathon on 7th March, 1200-1600 hours at NUST H-12.

The purpose of this long marathon was to get the participants the idea about how much a clean and green environment is a basic necessity in order to enjoy life at its fullest. Students from all over the campus participated with full zeal in the Eco-marathon.

NEC Upcoming Events

  1. NUST Environmental Club (NEC) in collaboration with Green Youth Movement (GYM) plans to hold its Marathon 1st week of March, 2023. The main purpose of this long marathon is to get participants the idea about how much a clean and green environment is essential to enjoy life at its fullest. The idea of the marathon is to have a full fledge race inside H-12 Campus.
  2. NUST Environmental Club (NEC) in collaboration with Green Youth Movement (GYM) plans to hold an event titled “Eco Code” in the month of March, 2023. In this event the field experts and guest speakers will train the students on current environmental and climate issues.

1-NEC participation in COP26 with Imperial College London

 

NUST Environment Club biggest milestone is to portray the environmentalism and activism to one of the most eminent platforms. NUST in collaboration with Imperial College London held a live session as part of COP26 the other day. A panel discussion was held with Dr Izhar Shah, a former Nustian and associated with Imperial college London as a Research Associate.

NUST Environment Club (NEC) President Zia Ur Rehman and NEC Environment Secretary Herman Nasir talked about the innovative approach of NUST in responding to the issue of climate change and on activating the public networks for action.

2-NEC Stall at CIPS

In collaboration with the Orientation of NUST 2021, the NUST Environment Club set up a stall in the CIPS Hall as a part of the segment known as Life At NUST. The segment consisted of the Rector and Registrar addressing the students to introduce them to the campus life in NUST.

The second half of the event was meant to introduce the freshmen to the many societies that NUST had to offer. This was done by setting up stalls in the CIPS Hallway.

NEC set up one such stall to show off the club to the freshmen.

3-ON’21xNEC Presents: Green Quest

 

In collaboration with the Orientation of NUST 2021, the NUST Environment Club held an event called Green Quest. The event was meant to be a Scavenger Hunt that would take participants around NUST.

Green Quest was organized by NEC to achieve two main purposes. The first was to allow the freshmen to become familiar with the campus by visiting different locations and the other was to show them that NEC was a fun club and eventually encourage them to join in the upcoming recruitment drive.
