The seminar’s main aim was to establish academic ties and create a dialogue platform for exchanging modern approaches and developments in the field of environmental protection, climate change, and sustainability between Pakistan and Russia.
The seminar covered several key areas related to environmental sustainability, including:

- Solid Waste Management
- GIS Technologies for Environmental Monitoring
- Environmental Safety in the Oil and Gas Industry
- Water and Wastewater Treatment
- Air Quality Monitoring
- Carbon Neutrality Strategies
- Waste-to-Energy Technologies
Dr. Arshad presented the Overview of IESE and NUST research infrastructure, facilities, projects, achievements, and future collaboration opportunities between NUST and RUDN University. He particularly emphasized the projects related to sustainable development goals.
Dr. Sher Jamal discussed wastewater management initiatives at NUST, while Dr. Faheem gave an in-depth presentation on air pollution and monitoring, focusing on future collaboration areas. Lastly, Dr. Hassan Anwer highlighted the role of nanotechnology in environmental sustainability and discussed ongoing projects at IESE, as well as further areas for potential collaboration.
From the other side moderator highlighted the overview of RUDN university, its ranking, its research infrastructure, its international collaboration. Next two senior professors presented their projects on air pollution control and solid waste management .
The work language for the seminar was English. It was a very insightful session.
