Dr Hira Amjad has been serving as a faculty member at IESE, NUST since 2019. Research interests of Dr Hira include water quality analysis and treatment. Specific research areas include physical, chemical and biological parameters analysis of surface and ground water and treatment (Coagulation/flocculation and floc properties studies); toxicological effects of microplastics on plants and animals and their removal from water (chemical & organic/biological). She has been involved in project conceptualization, methodology development, investigation/execution, monitoring/supervision and administration. She has been part of different committees at department, university and national level to provide her technical inputs in the tasks related to academics and community related issues. She started her career in the academia in 2016 as a full time Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences, Salim Habib University, Karachi. She has been actively perusing NUST Environment Club (NEC) at SCEE (IESE) since 2020.
