“JENESYS program: Connecting youths across Asia through cultural exchange and cooperation.” Japan’s Friendship Ties Programs JENESYS”, this project is intended to foster people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the Asia-Pacific region including the AMS with a total contribution of USD69 million as of October 2023. The programme aims to (1) Promote mutual trust and understanding, and build a basis for future friendship and cooperation, (2) Encourage an understanding of Japan’s economy, society, history, diverse culture, politics, and diplomatic relations, (3) Convey information about Japan to the general public of AMS and Timor-Leste through the participants of this project.
