International Youth Day 2024

PMYP organized International Youth Day on August 12, 2024, at Pak China Friendship Center. Prime Minister of Pakistan “Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif” was the Chief Guest of the event. International Youth Day is celebrated across the globe to acknowledge the importance of the young population and raise awareness that they hold the key to the future. This year’s theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development” highlighted the crucial position of youth at a significant juncture where technology intersects with opportunity. With over 60% of Pakistan’s population under the age of 30, Pakistan boats a youthful demographic that is increasingly connected to the global digital landscape. Pakistan’s Govt. Is committed towards fostering a supportive environment for youth through PMYP platform and associated institutional clubs like Green Youth Movement (GYM) club. SCEE (IESE) represented NUST at the International Youth Day event along with Dr M. Ansar Farooq (Focal Person GYM), Engr. Nida Maqbool (member), Ms. Mehwish Khalid (member) and 15 student members. UG13 students Mr. Ali Noor and Ms. Mahnoor Quddusi decorated their FYDP entitled “‘Design and Performance Evaluation of DEWATS for Sustainable Fecal Sludge Treatment” supervised by Engr. Nida Maqbool. The project was nominated for Excellence Awards and declared runner up at the event.
