Research positions for project entitled Safely Managed and Inclusive Sanitation: Service Chain Diagnostics for Evidence-based Policy
-Applications are invited from motivated and qualified candidates for the following positions
under the supervision of Dr. Nida Maqbool, Principal Investigator, for the RASTA-PIDE
funded research project titled “Safely Managed and Inclusive Sanitation: Service
Chain Diagnostics for Evidence-based Policy”.
Research Associate (02 Positions)
Responsibilities:
The Research Associate will assist in designing and implementing Knowledge, Attitude
and Practices (KAP) surveys and conducting interviews with relevant stakeholders. The
incumbent will coordinate field activities in the study area, undertake literature review and
policy analysis, and manage and analyze quantitative and qualitative datasets. The
position also involves contributing to report writing, preparation of policy briefs, and
development of dissemination materials. The Research Associate will perform any other
project-related tasks assigned by the Principal Investigator.
Qualification:
• MS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering, Public
Health Engineering, Water and Sanitation, Urban Planning, Development Studies, or
related
disciplines.
• Students enrolled in relevant Master’s programmes at NUST may also apply.
• Candidates with research experience in sanitation, WASH, wastewater management,
urban services, or policy analysis will be preferred.
Skills Required:
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Ability to travel for fieldwork.
• Experience with statistical software (SPSS, R, STATA, or similar).
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Experience in field surveys and stakeholder engagement will be an advantage.
Research Assistant (01 Position)
Responsibilities:
The Research Assistant will provide support in desk research and literature review, assist
in data entry, cleaning, and organization, and contribute to data analysis and the
preparation of tables, figures, and summaries. The incumbent will also maintain project
records and documentation, provide administrative and technical assistance to the
research team, and perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the Principal
Investigator.
Qualification:
• BS/BSc in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Civil Engineering,
Public Health Engineering, Geography, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.
• Students enrolled in relevant Master’s programmes at NUST may also apply.
Skills Required:
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to travel for fieldwork.
• Familiarity with survey tools and data management will be preferred.
Duration:
• The appointments are purely contractual for a period of 07 months, including a
probation period of 02 months.
