Seminar on Plastic Politics – Part of Green Action Week 2026
Seminar
As part of Green Action Week 2026, The Network for Consumer Protection organised a special stakeholder meet-up in Rawalpindi, bringing together community leaders, members of the Punjab Provincial Assembly representing Rawalpindi, district government officials, and senior officials of the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Rawalpindi.
The campaign is addressing a common misconception that Pakistan’s plastic ban law is too complex to enforce or too difficult for businesses and consumers to comply with. The success stories demonstrate the opposite: when there is awareness, responsible business behaviour, consumer cooperation and effective enforcement, the law can work.
To communicate this and talk about the politics around the banning of plastic Mr. Nadeem Iqbal, CEO of TheNetwork for Consumer Protection since 2011 delivered a talk on 20th October 2026 in SCEE (IESE) Seminar hall at 3:30 pm. The talk was more of an interactive session with over 100 students and faculty members.
