Two-Day Hands-On Training on Practical Geomicrobiology Successfully Completed

The Institute of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (IESE), School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (SCEE), NUST, successfully conducted a two-day hands-on training titled “Practical Geomicrobiology for Sustainable Remediation and Environmental Capacity Building – Small Life, Big Impact.” The training provided students with practical exposure to key concepts, laboratory techniques, and applications of geomicrobiology in sustainable environmental remediation. Participants from diverse disciplines were actively engaged in hands-on laboratory activities and developed an understanding of the interactions between microorganisms, minerals, and environmental systems. The training was funded by the Geochemical Society, USA, and served as a valuable platform for experiential learning, interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, and capacity building among students and young researchers.
