|School of Civil & Environmental Engineering (SCEE) is committed to pursue excellence in engineering education and research by developing appropriate curricula (with international benchmarking), acquiring talented faculty entrusted to demonstrate excellence in teaching pedagogies, thus providing an environment conducive to teaching and learning. Our mission is to produce exceptionally competent scholars, academic leaders, professionals, innovators, and entrepreneurs in civil & environmental engineering, who are the agents of change and can impact the world. We promote forward-looking research both applied and theoretical that is envisioned to positively impact and improve our profession and society. We assimilate and adapt interpersonal and social skills to help our graduates operate ethically, professionally and effectively in the real-word.|
Our goal at SCEE is to transform civil & environmental engineering education and practices by innovative approaches to address complex engineering problems faced by the industry. It is what motivates our faculty, staff, students, alumni and industry partners. We are driven by the belief that Pakistan’s civil & environmental engineering industry is faced with numerous challenges such as high seismic risk, climate-induced disasters, budgetary constraints and less focus on scientific & technological approach that demands from us, a problem-solving research and engineering education. The country’s national goal of economic development through China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a major challenge demanding interdisciplinary fusion of engineering, economics and industrial fields. This has also provided us with an opportunity to equip with emerging knowledge in civil & environmental engineering including (but not limited to) climate change, glacier mass re-balancing, etc. related knowledge domains to ensure sustainability of the CPEC. To prove equal to the task, we are prepared to focus on the 6 C’s (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Character, Communication and Citizenship), fundamental concept in our engineering education system to enhance quality of our graduates to enable them to contribute to the engineering practices in Pakistan.
For the students we strive to make learning comprehendible, interesting, and practical to enhance their employability through industrial outreach. For the faculty, we endeavour rebuild and hone their capacity through continuous professional development courses including training in advanced numerical modelling techniques giving them initiative to secure industrial projects, organise seminars workshops thus facilitate them in professional development in general and problem solving, research and innovation in particular.
